Places I’ve been….
- United States of America: Since they are our neighbors, to me this is a given. Have visited many states many times.
- England: Home of my best friend. I always feel like I have arrived home when I get off the plane in London. Have also been there many times and visited a lot of the country. Love North Devon!
- Scotland: I did a brief barmaiding stint at a hotel near Campbelltown in 2001…what an adventure THAT was!
- Switzerland: I worked in Adelboden for a winter over the 2000/2001 snowboarding season & consequently traveled to a lot of ski areas in the country.
- Holland: Amsterdam. Enough said.
- Czech Republic: Visited Prague & the countryside surrounding the city. Beautifully historic.
- Norway: Spent a few days with a close friend in Stavanger. Stunningly beautiful country, will one day return to see more of it. After I win the lottery.
- Spain: Hung out in Ibiza for a week in 2009 with our English BFFs. Gorgeous, sunny, and F U N.
- Thailand: All in all have spent 3 months traveling the entire country between 2004 & 2010/2011. One of my favorites! Will return repeatedly.
- Laos: Spent 3 weeks there in 2004. Got dengue fever. Being sick wasn’t fun, but it is a beautiful country nonetheless. Need to go there again and not get sick.
- Vietnam: Spent 4 weeks traveling from the far north to the south, doing a lot of beach time in 2004. Absolutely loved it.
- Cambodia: 4 incredible weeks touring the country in 2004. The Angkor Temples are spectacular & Phnom Penh is something that I think everyone needs to see.
- Indonesia: 4 weeks in Bali in 2004 learning to surf. Didn’t love Kuta Beach, but really liked the rest of the island. Stunning countryside.
- Burma: Only for a visa-renewal run in 2004. In and out in one day.
- Mexico: Over the years I have visited Puerto Vallarta twice and Cancun once. Always all-inclusive. Not my preferred way to travel, but it was always fun. In 2011 I visited Sayulita twice and stayed at a beautiful yoga retreat overlook the sea. LOVED it.
- Nicaragua: Spent 6 weeks in this impoverished Central American country at the end of 2011/beginning of 2012, and my life has been forever changed as a result…I’m in Nica-love.
…this list is ever expanding – I want to go everywhere I haven’t been! Where have your travels taken you? I love to hear about off the beaten track places!
I am not seeing New Zealand on there yet!!! Sx
NZ is on the short list, S, I promise! xo
